The academy is open to children from throughout Brent and is non-selective, non-denominational and co-educational. In the event of over subscription in the secondary school equal priority will be given to children from the Wembley area and from the Harlesden and Stonebridge Park area in the South of the borough.

Applying to Ark Academy is straightforward as there is no supplementary form. Applications must be made on the Brent Council common application form through the London Borough of Brent Admissions Service. Ark Academy is a non-denominational, non-selective school for children local to Wembley and, in the secondary school, Harlesden and Stonebridge. If the academy is oversubscribed, priority will be given to students with statements of special educational needs, where the academy is named on the statement.

The academy keeps a waiting list which is used to fill casual vacancies occurring if students leave during the year, or withdraw from a place that has been offered.
Appeals timetable for September 2013 entry Parents of children who are not allocated a place at their preferred school for admission to Year 7 or Reception class in September 2013 have the right to appeal under the Admissions Appeals Code https://www.education.gov.uk/publications/standard/publicationDetail/Page1/DFE-00014-2012 that came into force on 1 February 2012. For ARK academies appeals are organised by an external who will establish an independent panel to hear the appeal.
Applications to appeal must be made in line with the timetable below. Parents wishing to appeal can obtain an application form by emailing email@example.com, stating whether you require a SECONDARY or PRIMARY appeal form.

Parents/carers will be notified of their appeal date by an external agency engaged by ARK Schools, at least 10 school days before the hearing. They will provide a copy of the school’s statement of case which will be sent to each parent/carer at least 10 school days before the hearing. Parents/carers must submit any evidence they wish to be considered in support of their appeal to the external agency at least 5 working days before the hearing. Any evidence not submitted by this deadline may not be considered by the independent appeal panel.
