All pupils have the opportunity to participate in many enrichment opportunities. These include music,singing and dance. Many of the children benefit from music lessons provided by our specialist teachers with some choosing violin whilst others prefer Djembe,(African Drum),We are also very proud of our pupils who will be performing at the Barbican Centre this year thanks to the excellent work of our inspirational voice specialist. Street dance sessions are very popular with all the children as well as other forms of movement and dance. Our Extended schools programme includes
- Sports and the creative arts. The Academy provides a range of sporting and artistic opportunities including Tae Kwon Do and team sports such as football
- Music and dance. All pupils have regular music lessons and learn about song, instruments, rhythm and musical notation. We encourage all pupils to learn to play a musical instrument.
- Science and personal development. The Academy is fortunate to boast extensive grounds, pupils study the environment and nature in the safety of our own formal and natural gardens,they also have the use of a large field and a polytunnel in which to experiment and observe. Children also learn basic home skills the most popular of which is cookery.
- IT and computer skills. All children are encouraged to become proficient with modern technology. They have access to wireless notebooks, digital cameras and video capture devices, they have the opportunity to explore these technologies in a creative environment encompassing all our enrichment opportunities.
