Latest news on progress with our new building

Willmott Dixon, our building contractor, is reporting that construction on site is progressing well and we are currently on schedule to move into our new buildings this September, to coincide with the beginning of the new academic year. Please click here to read the latest construction newsletter.

The academy has been designed by award winning architects Studio E (who created the successful design for City of London Academy in Southwark) and is organised to support calm and ordered learning.  The academy will be laid out with the three and four storey secondary school facing on to Bridge Road with the double height sports building joined to it by the main academy entrance on Bride Road.  The two storey primary school and nursery is at right angles to the secondary school with its own entrance on Forty Avenue. Pupils will have access to specialist indoor and outdoor sports facilities, excellent ICT facilities, music and drama studios and a 150 sq m, well stocked and up to date library as well as inviting and well-equipped classrooms.

The excellent new sporting facilities will also benefit the surrounding community. The existing London Transport owned playing fields will become part of the school and are being upgraded and will be available for community use outside school hours at affordable rates.

The school's innovative design will be built to high environmental standards.
